Orgate Force
Orgate Force
In very wet conditions, Marske Beck has been paddled by kayakers down to the Swale. With the weather very cold and lots of ice about, this is a very low winter level (though not as low as the summer level, NZ0901 : Orgate Force on Marske Beck) and the beck would not be navigable without a lot of rain or snowmelt. Orgate Force might be a little problematical - the obvious way over has a very shallow landing (right of the photo) whilst river right (nearest the photographer) has a deeper plunge pool, but this is somewhat occupied by fallen trees.
