The remains of a bird
The remains of a bird
Found on the coast at Abereiddi: a complete wing and other feathers of a medium-sized bird. The wing, apparently ripped away from the body, which was not present, measured about 20cm at full stretch. The main flight feathers are dark grey but white at the base, the proximal section of the wing is mottled rather than barred, with gold and white - Golden Plover? (ID confirmed by Hugh Venables)
