NZ0101 : East Intake House

East Intake House
East Intake House
East Intake House is at the top of a group of fields enclosed (or "taken in") from the moor east of Arkle Town. This is a north-facing slope dropping 100m from the road down to the River Arkle, tree lined in the bottom of the dale. It's a windy place, and the turbine was spinning merrily away as I shivered in the wind-chill on this frosty day. On the far side of the dale, Slei Gill rises to the still snow-covered Booze Moor which sounds more like a pastime, favoured by the lead miners who were responsible for the big hush and the mine tailings seen on the right of the photo.
