The Station at Greenwich is sufficient to whet the appetite of any History Buff.

The reason for this splendour is that the station was the original terminus of the first railway line in London. It was built to run from London Bridge to Greenwich and opened in stages between 1836 and 1840, when this terminus building was opened for use. The intention was to extend eastwards to Woolwich, but objections from the Royal Observatory and others delayed this until 1878!
