SJ0541 : All ready for lambing

taken 8 years ago, near to Cynwyd, Denbighshire/Sir Ddinbych, Great Britain

All ready for lambing
All ready for lambing
These ewes have been prepared for lambing with the wool around the vagina and tail dagged out to help cut infections to the livestock. It also helps the shepherd see how individual sheep are progressing as they approach lambing. Note that these ewes are "lowland" sheep with docked tails, this would be too draughty for "upland" ewes which have long tails.
