All Saints church - donkey by Rachel Long
The donkey is one of a number of animals which have been made by artist Rachel Long from recycled metal, and which have been completed with 'green materials' by pupils from schools in Little Melton and Hethersett. Other animals include a camel, sheep and a cockerel.

All Saints church > LinkExternal link - LinkExternal link dates from the 14th century and is a Grade II listed building. Its south porch is a later addition dating from the 15th or early 16th century, and an extension built onto the north wall and providing modern facilities was completed in 2009. The church houses a number of medieval survivals, amongst them several wall paintings - one depicting St Christopher, another the Annunciation > LinkExternal link. A very rare depiction of a group of women surrounded by three devils, dominated by Titivallus - the Demon of Gossip - is painted on the north nave wall, clearly meant as a warning against gossiping. The rood screen > LinkExternal link is late C15. The octagonal font > LinkExternal link is of Purbeck marble and dates from Norman times, whereas the wooden painted cover was added in 1934.
