Cregneash Village - The Karran Farm
The Karran Farm is the last surviving example of a traditional Manx crofting farmstead. Two thatched cottages flank a haggard (stack-yard) where round corn stacks with conical tops would stand until threshed in the winter. The Karran family farmed an area of about 30 acres, was renown for fishing, and quarried slate lintels from the cliffs of Spahish Head.
