The signal box at New Romney in winter
A scheduled service ran between New Romney and Dungeness on this very cold Saturday in January so the signal box was in use, despite its deserted appearance. A work party had removed the track in the foreground but had to abandon work at lunchtime because of the weather. The buffers were a temporary addition to mark the break in the line.
