Spinning mules, Brynkir Woollen Mill
Self acting spinning mules. Samuel Crompton's mule was a hybrid (hence the name) of Hargreaves's spinning Jenny and Arkwright's water frame. The original mule was part manually operated and Richard Roberts was to make it self-acting. Mules are large and complex machines and it is always a pleasure to see them at work.
