TF0304 : Burghley House estate wall

Burghley House estate wall
Burghley House estate wall
The lighter coloured stonework shows the restored wall after my wife (being given a driving lesson by me) and I crashed our minivan, bought only 2 days before, into the (thankfully) dry stone wall. The steering had become disconnected; I broke my wrist, my wife was unharmed, but the car was a write-off. I received a bill for GBP 200 to repair the wall, which was paid by the car insurers. It could have ended our lives! This was about 1967.
