Heavy grazing, Ashdown Forest
Heavy grazing, Ashdown Forest
The green is moss, the darker colour heather. Even a small gorse bush has been reduced to a conical shape by browsing. The small enclosure seems to be a control area to see how things grow with no grazing. Sheep are the main grazers. The pines beyond form Friends Clump.
