Former water fountain outside former Clarence Dock
Former water fountain outside former Clarence Dock
In the 19th century a number of water fountains were installed in the dock wall to provide workers with a safe supply of drinking water as an alternative to beer, which was readily available nearby. Today the water fountains don't work, Clarence Dock has been filled in, and there are only a few pubs still open. SJ3391 : Former water fountain and Waterloo Road
