Battery Field
Battery Field
The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map and part of Pevensey Bridge Level. Named after the Elizabethan battery that was located here during the 16th century to guard the entrance of Pevensey Haven. There is still a slight rise in ground in the field though it can be difficult to see.
