taken 8 years ago, near to Pevensey Bay, East Sussex, Great Britain

Sluice Lane
Sluice Lane
The modern lane that links Pevensey with Normans Bay and Cooden. Originally the old road to Bexhill and Hastings it was eventually replaced by a newer route via the Lamb Inn and Barnhorn. Initially it ran across this section of the road with the junction to Sluice Lane in the distance next to the gate but when the A259 was upgraded between the wars this section was relegated to being part of Sluic Lane and is now the only section of the old Pevensey to Hooe road still in use between here and the Lamb Inn.
