Upper Teifi basin from Lan Fraith
Upper Teifi basin from Lan Fraith
The Afon Teifi originates from the hills around the Teifi Pools east of Ffair Rhos. There are a number of source streams, including the Afon Mwyro, the Nant Rhydol, and the Teifi itself, which merge at the foot of the hills near Strata Florida abbey, in the wide basin seen in the distance. The river than flows west towards Pontrhydfendigaid before entering the extended bog of Cors Caron to the south. At the bottom of the valley, the track from Penddol Fawr farm to the water abstraction unit in SN7565 can be seen.
