Remains of cottages, Elland Road, Brookfoot, Southowram
Brookfoot was once a thriving community, with a school built in 1878 and a church that opened in 1896. The school closed in 1974 and the church in 1959, and these and the houses that they served have disappeared almost without trace, to be replaced by factories. However, there were some tiny cottages built into the hillside, and various fireplaces and niches, and the holes for the wooden joists, can still be seen.
