SJ9774 : Ladybird on spruce

near to Rainow, Cheshire, Great Britain

Ladybird on spruce
Ladybird on spruce
I was attracted by the photographic possibilities of the bright green shoots, then spotted (!) the ladybird. It appears to be an Eyed Ladybird (Anatis ocellata), Britain's largest species of ladybird, whose host plants are "needled conifers". See LinkExternal link for more information.
