Mound beside the Spouts Burn
This is the large mound that is shown, left of centre, in NS4278 : Signs of former industry at the Spouts Burn; see that item for more details.
The mound has what may be a decayed lime-kiln ruin in its side; see NS4278 : Possible lime-kiln ruin at the Spouts Burn for a better view, taken on a later occasion.
The photograph also shows part of a ridge boundary that leads NW for a distance of about 200 metres towards the remains of a lime-kiln: NS4278 : Lime-kiln ruin in upper Auchenreoch Glen. There are several such ridges in the vicinity of the ruin of Auchenreoch (NS4278 : Remains of Auchenreoch Farm).

Mounds beside the Spouts Burn
Alongside this part of the Spouts Burn, there is a single large green mound, and several similar but much smaller mounds; the latter are arranged in pairs, with one on each side of the burn. See Linkfor an annotated satellite view. If associated with nearby cornstone quarrying (see Link
for details), these signs of former industry probably date from the eighteenth century.
Network of old limestone industry tracks :: NS4379
A very extensive network of ancient tracks on the moors in West Dunbartonshire links old quarries, ruined lime-kilns, and other sites connected with the local limestone-burning industry, which flourished in the 18th century. See Linkfor a Geograph article about the network, and Link
for an annotated satellite view of it.
