Twin electric units at Crewe
Twin electric units at Crewe, taken 38 years ago
The class 304 electric multiple units were the staple of suburban services north of Crewe in the 1970s. Here, the unit on the left was about to form a service to Altrincham (a route which was curtailed at Manchester once the Altrincham branch was converted to tram operation in the early 1990s) and the one at right was heading for Liverpool.
