Millhaugh Old Bridge
Millhaugh Old Bridge
The Old Bridge is a single span (60ft) over the River Almond. It was built in 1619 by an unknown engineer, it was an unusual design as the spandrels are hollow. The bridge was bypassed in the 19th century because it was too steep for the heavier loads the carts from the quarries.
