TQ6835 : Scotney [Old] Castle

taken 14 years ago, near to Kilndown, Kent, Great Britain

Scotney [Old] Castle.
Scotney [Old] Castle.
The castle round tower is 14th Century and the stonework around the top is heavily machicolated. Abutting the tower is a ruined Elizabethan house - finally abandoned because of the unhealthy living so close to the water. The moat is fed by the River Bewl.
