Cove
Cove
Coastal village that was once a thriving fishing community. A harbour was built here in the early 19 century. At one time around 100 boats fished out of Cove in the herring season. The catch was taken to Musselburgh by road and then sold to Edinburgh by the Fisherrow fishwives. Crabs and lobsters were taken to Dunbar to be shipped to London.
