One end of the Horseshoe

On account of its shape, the route followed by the Auchincarroch Road (and by its continuation to this junction) is invariably referred to locally as "the Horseshoe". It is almost 10km in length.

Shown here is one end of that road, at the point where it branches off from the main road (NS4082 : Stirling Road); for a view back down that road towards the point from which the present photograph was taken, see NS4083 : The Horseshoe.
