No. 1 Westminster Bridge
This building was recently voted Britain's 11th ugliest building. It has stood empty for almost 20 years. The Greater London Council used it as overflow offices and when the GLC ceased to exist it was not possible to find another tenant. This might have been because the building is in the middle of a busy roundabout and the view from at least half the building was mainly of the railway bridge just outside Waterloo. Or it may have been because the building was plain ugly. Anyway, within a week of this photo being taken, it is due to be demolished and eventually replaced with Park Plaza.
