Newburgh: pillbox at the mouth of the River Ythan
Newburgh: pillbox at the mouth of the River Ythan
A pillbox built in 1940 to defend the mouth of the River Ythan. The Ythan is currently moving to the north and in doing so has exposed the ancient rocky shore that underlies the current sandy beach.
