Clockmill Lane railway bridge
Clockmill Lane railway bridge
The bridge carries the main east coast line. In the 1953 Coronation-year documentary film 'Elizabethan Express', which follows the progress of a steam locomotive from London King's Cross to Edinburgh Waverley, the Lane can be seen near the end of the film. Children from the nearby tenements are seen playing in the Lane and stop to stare at the passing train.
