Statue of David Livingstone
This is a closer view of the statue which is shown in NS6065 : Glasgow Cathedral and NS6065 : Glasgow Cathedral.
The book "Sculpture in Glasgow – an illustrated handbook", by Ray McKenzie, explains that this bronze statue (1875-79) on a granite pedestal is by John Mossman, assisted by Francis Leslie, that it was cast by Cox and Sons, and that it originally stood in George Square; in 1959, it was moved to a point near its present location [for further details, see the book just cited].
