Ford on the bridle road near Aldersley, Allerton
Ford on the bridle road near Aldersley, Allerton
There is something timeless about this place. The track is captioned 'Bridle Road' on the six-inch map of 1852, but is only indicated as an unspecified right-of-way on modern maps. It starts at Aldersley to the west, and goes eastwards with branches to Bailey Fold, Allerton Lanes and Allerton Hall, although the old map does not indicate which of these branches is a bridle road.
