SU1405 : Queen Victoria's street lamp, Ringwood Market Place

taken 12 years ago, near to Ringwood, Hampshire, Great Britain

Queen Victoria's street lamp, Ringwood Market Place
Queen Victoria's street lamp, Ringwood Market Place
The plaque reads "Erected by public subscription to commemorate the jubilee of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria 1887". A plaque in the steps reads "Stonework donated by Capt. C J Lee". It may be that it was originally gas lit, but it is now electric. The centre lamp is looking a bit sorry for itself.
