Point Froward - View from Mutton Cove quay
The view from the waterfront shows the location of what was the first Dockyard built at Devonport on Point Froward between the years 1690-1698 covering some 24 acres and costing some 70,000. The colourful statue is of "King Billy" (William IV 17651837)in whose reign the dockyard was further developed. This dockyard is now designated and protected as an ancient monument with a new roof installed to protect it from the elements.

The estuary coast of Cornwall can be seen in the distance.
