The bridge at Egton Bridge
This fine stone bridge was built from scratch in 1993.
In the 1930s a huge flood came down the Esk, washing away the original stone arched bridge.
For the next 60 years a steel structure spanned the river atthis point, but as it became corroded and needed replacing, it was decided that the most cost effective option for the site was this traditional stone design.
