The Star Inn, Alfriston.
The Star Inn, Alfriston.
This popular half-timbered inn dates back to the 14th Century. It is notable for the many carvings on it and also for the bright red wooden figure at its street corner (probably an old ship's figurehead). The rooftiles are stone "Horsham slabs".
