Old Roman Bridge over Highland Water, New Forest
Old Roman Bridge over Highland Water, New Forest
The route of a Roman road runs NE-SW through this grid square, crossing the Highland Water on this old brick bridge. Wooden side rails have been attached to the bridge to limit the size of vehicles crossing it. The bridge has a weight limit and narrowing it prevents its use by overweight vehicles.
