SK7929 : Eaton: south side of the railway bridge

taken 15 years ago, near to Eaton, Leicestershire, England

Eaton: south side of the railway bridge
Eaton: south side of the railway bridge
This bridge carried the Stathern road over the Eaton Branch. The last two ironstone quarries served by the branch, Eaton (Basic) and Mill Hill, were immediately south of here, both closing in the early 1960s. The brick arch springs directly out of the cutting in the marlstone. Kate Jewell's photograph Link shows the other side of the bridge.
