SJ9971 : South of the Cat and Fiddle

taken 12 years ago, near to Macclesfield Forest, Cheshire, Great Britain

South of the Cat and Fiddle
South of the Cat and Fiddle
The bridleway between the A54 and the Cat and Fiddle Inn (on the A537) just clips the eastern side of SJ9971, the only right-of-way in the square (though most of it is designated Access Land). This view is to the NNE showing the top of the valley that lower down is marked on the map as "The Scaurs". Shining Tor (SJ994737, the highest point in Cheshire) is in the background to the right. Fellow users of this path included a few poorly-shod souls taking a short stroll from the Cat and Fiddle, and a number of mountain bikers.
