TQ1605 : Sompting Church

taken 13 years ago, near to Sompting, West Sussex, Great Britain

Sompting Church.
Sompting Church.
This ancient Sussex church has a flint Saxon tower. Its distinctive cap is common to German churches, is called a "Rhenish Helm", and is the one of only two in Britain. The church was given to the Knights Templar in 1154, hence the southern side chapel.
