The Dingwall Canal enters the Cromarty Firth
The tide was out when this was taken. For the final half mile before it enters the sea, the canal is separated from the Cromarty Firth to the north by a narrow strip of land a few yards wide ending in the point shown near the middle of the image. Part of the Cromarty Bridge carrying the A9 is visible on the horizon to the left of the picture
