Beach chalets at Whitby sands
Not many bathers on this low overcast drizzly Saturday in March, so none of the beach chalets seem to be in use. There were a surprising number of tourists about, and lots of dog-walkers on the beach despite the wet and the cold. I thought it was miserable !
The colour choices are limited, and come in strict sequence blue-green-red-yellow (apart from the very furthest away hut, which is blue when it ought to be yellow). However, at some stage the owners have changed the shade of yellow in use, so some walls of some huts are a more lemony yellow than the majority. There's a variety of different styles of roof-covering and of doors, too and one hut is significantly taller than the others. Apparently the chalets contain chairs, as each one has a sign saying the chairs must not be taken onto the beach.
