Peterhead fish workers at Great Yarmouth

Fishing boats and fish workers from Peterhead in the North East of Scotland once travelled each year to Great Yarmouth following the migration of the herring. There they gutted the herring and packed them with salt into barrels. Much of the catch was exported to Eastern Europe and Russia.
