Vereley Tower, New Forest
Vereley Tower, New Forest
There has always been a tower here. In the 1950s it was made of wood and called Vereley Watch Tower. Those were the days when you could pay a man to sit up a ladder all day in case the forest caught fire. Today it is a police radio and mobile phone mast.
