Ormiston Hall Doocot
Ormiston Hall Doocot
Ormiston Hall was designed for the founder of Ormiston village, John Cockburn of Ormiston in 1745-8. The doocot is a cylindrical tower 18th century roofless doocot. There are two flight holes and a further 13 entrance holes above a shelf. The style is in keeping with the picturesque idea that buildings in landscaped parks should enhance the feeling of a native or historic place.
