Torness Power Station
Electricity at the nuclear power station at Torness is produced from two advanced gas-cooled reactors. Construction began in 1980 and the power station, operated by British Energy plc, was commissioned in 1988. Barns Ness Lighthouse NT7277 : Barns Ness lighthouse is behind the power station on the right with the lighthouse on the Bass Rock NT6087 : Bass Rock Lighthouse visible in the central background. Viewed from Greenside Hill on the north side of the A1107 road between Cockburnspath and Coldingham.
