Afternoon mist in field at Hempshill
According to White's Directory of Nottinghamshire 1853, Hempshill was a small hamlet of 50 acres in the parish of Greasley. Hempshill Hall was the seat of George Bacon esquire. The hamlet has disappeared under the new Hempshill Vale estate, although the hall still exists (now converted to housing).
