The Orry Mill
The Orry Mill
Remains of the north-west elevation of the five storey Mill. The building was 116 feet long by 32 feet wide within the walls and had five flats. The motte or Motte Hill, a flat-topped mound likely to be a site of the first wooden castle of the Montgomeries in the 12th century, was truncated in the late 18th century by the building of the Orry Mill which has resulted in the removal of probably about a third of the site.
