Culloden Moor
According to the landowners and custodians of the battlefield, the National Trust for Scotland, drainage and forestry has dried out the moor since the battle, so this boggy pool beside the Jacobite lines may give an idea of the terrain at the time. Certainly, it is known Jacobite troops on this flank, down in a boggy hollow, took longer to reach the Government lines - the right flank on higher, drier ground met their fate much more rapidly.
