Peden's Stone by Peden Reservoir
There are several stones in the hills of Southern Scotland named after the Reverend Alexander Peden (1626-86), a church minister who held field meetings called conventicles in the times of the Covenanters when Presbyterians were persecuted by government soldiers for their religious beliefs. The flat topped boulder is approximately 3.5m x 1.2m x 1m high. Peden Reservoir is in the background with Doddin up to the right.
