VOR Beacon, Detling Hill
VOR Beacon, Detling Hill
A VOR beacon is an aircraft navigation aid. It sends out a steady signal on all 360 bearings and a second signal which cycles round and round. This is on the site of the old Detling airfield, the buildings which lie at the northern edge of the square are now used as industrial units. Kingsnorth Power Station chimney is visible in the distance.
