Course of the Stratford-upon-Avon and Moreton Tramway
Course of the Stratford-upon-Avon and Moreton Tramway
The A3400 from Stratford has wide verges on one side or the other all the way from Stratford-upon-Avon to the distant end of this straight. This used to accommodate the Stratford-upon-Avon and Moreton in Marsh Tramway. This length was only ever horse drawn and had fallen into disuse by the end of 19th century. It was finally lifted in 1918 to provide scrap for the war effort. The wide verges however still survive today.
