Straw peacock on thatched roof
The ridge of a thatched roof is often decorated with a bird constructed from thatch and wire netting. Note also the neat pattern of the ridge with criss-cross liggers, probably split hazel, and ornamental cut block. The thatch is covered in wire netting to keep out birds.
