NT1620 : West side of Dead for Cauld and Nitties Burn

taken 12 years ago, near to Meggethead, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

West side of Dead for Cauld and Nitties Burn
West side of Dead for Cauld and Nitties Burn
Intriguing placenames in this part of the country. "Dead for Cauld" appears to have been an old name for the nearby farm of Meggethead, and has been retained for one of the neighbouring hills, part of which is shown in the photo. The deep cleft on the right of the photo has been cut by Nitties Burn.
